Since I have a 4 week window prior to my race I had to use the philosophy of “In order for me to make it to the finish line, I have to make it to the starting line.” What I’ve noticed about using time instead of distance is that I’m less worried about what pace I’m running at and more about making sure I’m logging my time (time spent on feet running). This is my 15th half marathon I will be participating in and I don’t have a need to obviously set a PR so I decided to just finish the race.
